I have the honor of being the President of the Woburn Host Lions Club
this year. I reflect back to how Lions Club has been a part of my life. Growing up in Woburn, the Halloween Parade was a major event.
Rushing downtown after “Trick or Treating” for the parade at night,
shaking hands with Batman and Robin, and being in the parade on a football float, are all memories I treasure.
The Lions Club provided a visual aid machine to my grandfather. An
Italian immigrant who never graduated high school, he read his first
book, The Godfather, at age 86. The Woburn Host Lions helped my
sisters family in their time of need with donating to her fundraiser
and and the Christmas fund.
The coming year I plan to honor the past with a memory pumpkin float
in the parade, and start a costume “Halloween Walk” at Lions Park. This year is our club’s turn to make a positive impact to work together and
have fun doing it.
I hope to lead us to a great year we can remember and be proud of.
Yours in Lionism,
Frank J. DiMauro
