 86th Annual State Convention Held

Woburn Host Lions Club and Bryan Murphy Honored

At the 86th annual Lions State Convention held in Mansfield, MA, the Woburn Host Lion's Club was  named the best extra large Lions club in Massachusetts.  President Tom Quigley proudly accepted the coveted award on behalf of the club members.  The Host Lions are one of only four clubs in the state to have donated over $500,000 to the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund.

Also, at this year's convention member Bryan Murphy was presented the prestigous International President's award.  The award, presented by Lions International 2nd VP Dr. Yamada from Japan, is one of the highest recognitions a Lion can receive.  Congratulations Bryan.

The funds raised for the Eye Research Fund enables the medical research staffs of institutions such as Tufts Medical, Boston University, Schepens Institute and Massachusetts Eye and Ear to find cures for eye diseases and to develop new treatment methods for traumatic eye injuries.
